The Quiet Magic of Micro Weddings

There's something profoundly different about a wedding with 30 people instead of 200. Micro weddings strip away the noise and return the day to what it was always meant to be: two people choosing each other, witnessed by those who know them best.

As a photographer, I have seen how the intimacy changes everything. The energy is slower. The emotions are closer to the surface. There is room to breathe, to feel, to be present. And that is exactly what made this backyard micro wedding so special.

A backyard isn't just a location, it is a memory keeper. It's where family gatherings have happened, where kids have played, where laughter already lives in the walls and the trees. Saying your vows in a place that already holds meaning adds a layer of depth you can't recreate in a traditional venue.

Charity & Derek

Kayla is an absolute artist in every sense of the word and a gem of a human being. She has an incredible eye, unmatched attention to detail, and a heart that radiates through her work. She has a way of making you feel confident, comfortable, and unbelievably beautiful. She focuses on capturing who you are as a person, the intimacy of the special moments we share as human beings and truly turns them into pure magic.

When it came time to choose a photographer for my wedding day, there was nobody else I would have trusted to capture such a meaningful and intimate moment in my life. She moved throughout my wedding discreetly, while capturing super candid moments like my son twirling around, blowing bubbles and even spilling an entire glass of juice on his white shirt. Not only that but in the moments where I felt overwhelmed or anxious she made me feel so calm and relaxed, like when I was about to walk out in front of everyone and she silently whispered “slow and breathe”.

She celebrates imperfections and turns them into something stunning. Every image reflects not just how you look, but who you are. She takes the time to connect with you on a deeper level, and that connection allows your personality and uniqueness to shine in every single photograph. Her work is honest, powerful, and breathtaking.

Beyond her talent, her dedication is unmatched. She went above and beyond to ensure she was there for my wedding day, even after injuring herself that very morning. That level of commitment speaks volumes about her character and passion for what she does.
